How To Relieve Bloating

Bloating is something that I seem to struggle with almost on a daily basis. Most of my bloating seems to come from my eating schedule (which is not something that I can really change) I work in a busy restaurant, without a weekly set schedule and no scheduled lunch/supper breaks. Sometimes, I go for 6-8 hours without eating which results in a binge, and then a bloated belly.

There are also many common foods that can trigger bloating. Some of them are:

Beans: Beans contain oligosaccharides. This is a form of sugar that does not get digested by our bodies easily.

Dairy Products: Many people find it difficult to digest dairy products. Thus, you need to check if you are allergic to them and try to limit the consumption of dairy products.

Carbonated Drinks: Consumption of carbonated drinks also causes bloating as they release carbon dioxide into your stomach.

Chewing Gum: Do you love chewing candies or gum? If yes, this might be the cause of gas and bloating in your stomach, as your swallowing a bit of air with each chew.

Certain Vegetables: Some nutritious veggies, like asparagus, broccoli, and cabbage can also contribute to bloating.

Certain Fruits: Even fruits such as pears can cause bloating.

There are a few home remedies that can help in reducing bloating effectively and within a short span of time. Here are a few of my favorites:

Ginger: Raw ginger in extremely helpful in relieving all gastrointestinal issues. The roots of ginger are rich in an enzyme called zingibain that helps in eliminating gas and reducing bloating in no time.

Chamomile Tea: Is an amazingly healthy tea that has anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties. It has a soothing effect on the mucous membranes of the stomach and digestive tract.

Peppermint Tea: Also works as a relaxing agent on the soft muscles of the gastrointestinal tract.

Fennel: Fennel seeds work as an antispasmodic agent in the digestive tract and the colon and thus, are very helpful in reducing bloating.

Pineapple: Is loaded with protein-digesting enzymes that promote digestion and lower the risk of gases or bloating.

Papaya: Is an amazing fruit that reduces bloating since is it rich in the enzyme papain. This enzyme is a protein-digesting enzyme this helps in combating gases and bloating.

Apple Cider Vinegar: If you feel bloated all the time, this one is the go-to solution for all of your digestive issues.
